As part of the Live Free Weekend, the Villanova University community is being encouraged to take a pledge to forego all alcohol use for 96 hours from Nov. 13-16.
The pledge also includes no recreational drug use. Alternatively, participants can decide to take a "binge free agreement," where they agree to be binge-free while abstaining from recreational drug use.
Our hope is that students who take the pledge will use it as a chance to stand back and think about how attitudes and behaviors connected to substance use affect our daily lives. It is a great opportunity to recognize how drugs and alcohol affect us all while offering students many events to connect and socialize without alcohol.
The event will kickoff with a birthday celebration for St. Augustine at the Oreo for people taking the pledge. This event will give people a chance to meet others who are participating in the weekend.
